Mary Terwilliger, Director of Community Engagement at Generation Two, will be providing us information on the organization’s mission. This looks to be a great opportunity for the club to interact with our community in what is intended to be an Intergenerational Friendship between young students and adults within the community. Be sure to join us for this zoom meeting so that we can see if there is a way the Club could be impactful within community. |

Rotarians take the floor to discuss what is going on within the club. Live from Zambia, we will be hearing from Cameron Knaub and David Georgiev who are on the ground with their organization, The Guardians of Hope.
We will also get kick off to the club supported, “Crutches for Africa.” This major project has gained some serious momentum in the last couple weeks and is set for a launch this coming weekend.
Both of these initiatives are project the club has chose to support, so I would be great if we get the member support at this meeting.
Look forward to seeing you. |

This week, we will get the first update from President Brenda on her first month at the helm. We will use the second half of the meeting as Committee Time.
What is Committee Time? We have recognized that we are all busy, and giving up additional time during the month for committees, is sometime challenging. Understanding this, since most of us are together at the weekly meetings, this would be a productive use of time.

The Greece Rotary Club, with the assistance of the Ridge Road Fire Department and the Greece Lion’s Club, is collecting new and used mobility devices (crutches, walkers, canes, rollators and wheelchairs). They will be shipped to developing countries in Africa and distributed free-of-charge to people with physical mobility challenges, regardless of their race, gender, tribe, age, or religion. Some of the collected items will be distributed locally as well through the Lion’s Club. The collection project began on August 1st and runs through September 30th. Detailed information is included in the attached fliers. Please bring your donated mobility devices to our collection point, the Ridge Road Fire Station, 1299 Long Pond Road, Rochester, NY 14626. (It’s across the street from the old Sears store in the Greece Ridge Center.) There are signs to indicate where your donations should be placed. On August 14 and September 18 there will even be people to unload your vehicle for you! You can also help by distributing the attached flier and information to everyone you know, as well as to any and all organizations you can. If you can't print copies of the flier, please contact Helen or Bill to get some. Here is a link to a short 90 second video to help people better understand the urgent need: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-NP64Xw7Y4. Thank you for all you are doing to support this project. As we continue to reach out to find speakers that bring value to your Wednesday lunch time adventures, we will be bringing in NYS Assemblymen Josh Jensen. Assemblymen Jensen is new to the…. processes… of Albany.
Come join us and help us build the base of Rotarians to help our speakers also find value in our lunch time adventures when they give up their time to come us.
Look forward to seeing you there. |
