Reimagine Greece Capital Project Vote December 4, 2018

A renovation plan under consideration by the Greece Central School District would see artificial turf fields and lighting added at all four district high schools.

The $107 million Reimagine Greece plan got an airing on Tuesday before the district's school board. The plan would be the third and final phase of a capital improvement initiative that kicked off in 2011.

In addition to adding lighted fields to the district's high schools — there are currently no turf fields or lighted fields in Greece — the plan calls for remodeling inside all 17 district schools, safety improvements and a new transportation facility.

According to district documents, the work would be done with no additional cost to taxpayers. About $92 million of the cost would be covered by state aid, while the remainder would be covered by the district's existing capital reserves. If voters approve the project, there would be no impact on the tax levy.
