The Literacy Committee has been busy!
Kelly Meyer has agreed to chair the Literacy Committee this year - thank you, Kelly!
As you may recall, we applied for and received a District Grant to fund purchase of Early Language Development Kits for Greece Central School District Pre-K and Kindergarten students who need some extra help (250 kits.) Tracy and Rita have met with Julie Parsons at GCSD and all the materials have been ordered (2 books, alphabet cards, crayons, journals, pencils, pencil sharpeners, book labels and bags.
500 books have arrived – service project Thursday, 9/19, from 5 – 7 PM for Labeling Event at 31 Erie Canal Drive (John’s office). Refreshments to be provided. This is our District Grant Project. Many hands makes for light work.
We are going to have a printed directory in 2024-2025 last chance for revisions.
Rotary Leadership Institute North East – 10/19/2024 at Victor Junior HS – $70 – Club will treat! It's a great opportunity to learn more about Rotary.

As stated in the September 2024 Grapevine, the September Rotary theme is basic education and literacy. The September edition of the Grapevine on page 11 has an application form for Literacy Recognition by Rotary.
